Bright BFF Card

Hey there! Happy Friday! It's an extra-happy one for me because I'm seeing one of my long-time favorite bands, Third Eye Blind, in concert tonight. Live music is absolutely one of my favorite things and anytime I get a chance to experience it, I'm a happy girl.

On to today's card - I made a simple, but bright friendship card using all My Mind's Eye products:

Love Lives Here Card

Hey there! I find it hard to believe that the holidays have come and gone and we're getting ready to start a new year. But I am excited about it. I have so many big plans for 2012 and a lot of exciting changes as well. It will defnitely be a year to enjoy. 

Today I'm sharing a quick and  easy card I made featuring one of my favorite stamp sets that I own from Papertrey Ink - the Love Lives Here stamp set designed by the one-and-only Melissa Phillips.

I thought this card would be nice for a house-warming or even a "just because" kind of occasion. My favorite part of this stamp set is the typography that Melissa and Nichole chose. What can I say? I'm a sucker for a mixture of typefaces in a single sentiment.

Merry Christmas Poinsettia

Hey there! 4 more days until Christmas - crazy, right? I guess it's not actually that crazy. I mean it has been December for about 20 days now. Somehow, I just kind of forgot it was happening this year. Luckily my family is small and Christmas doesn't involve a ton of preparation from me. So that's a gift in itself. And next year I'm planning to be ahead of the game and actually make and send cards again (no, I didn't do it this year and yes, I am a little ashamed to admit it).

But I did make THIS Christmas card, so I'll share it here and I think that counts for something. :)

One of a Kind Card

Hey there! So it's the last Monday before Christmas - how did that happen? Are you all done with your shopping? Because I just started mine yesterday. Scary, I know. Luckily, I got most of it done and even enjoyed some ice skating with my Dad. It's a little tradition we started about 5 years ago and it's by far one of my favorite days every year. So yeah, great weekend overall.

As I was looking back over my little "blog journal" that I keep (to remember what I actually posted and when), I realized that I never shared a card from the 365 Cards special issue from Paper Crafts. So here's one of my favorites from that issue:

I made this card for "National Thrift Shop Day" in August, but I think it would work for a birthday card too. I just love Crate Paper's Restoration collection and had been waiting for a great excuse to layer a bunch of the chipboard pieces from the line. So this was it!

Print Candee Blog Hop - December

Hi there! I know I didn't post yesterday, but that's because today is another Print Candee Blog Hop! The rest of the Creative Team and I each created a new project using digital goodies from the Print Candee store. For December, we're doing a "card styles" theme and each member of the team chose a different style  - graphic, fun/cute, shabby chic, traditional and vintage. 

Since I've been obsessed with all things vintage lately, I gave that style a try using an adorable graphic from Made by Janet. Her designs are simply gorgeous and you can find tons of them at the Print Candee store.

Floral Merry Christmas Card

Hey there! I hope you had a great weekend and enjoyed some holiday festivities! I had a nice low-key weekend and really enjoyed myself. I also finally made my favorite ricotta cookies on Saturday and I'm looking forward to bringing them into work today (this way, I won't eat the entire 4 dozen). 

Today, I thought I'd share a card I made for the "quick and easy" section of Paper Crafts magazine's November/December 2011 issue. This little one didn't make it, but I can still like it, right? :)

I absolutely love K & Company's dimensional stickers - especially their vintage holiday ones. They're so pretty and detailed that you can make a super simple card like this and have an eye-catching focal point with pretty much zero effort! Great for mass-producing cards during this time of year.

CARDS Magazine October 2011

Hi there! Happy Friday! Any fun plans for this weekend? I'm looking forward to celebrating a friend's birthday tonight and then baking some serious Christmas cookies this weekend - can't wait! I also just got an order from Two Peas in the mail, so that will have to get opened and played with I'm sure. :)

Today I'm sharing a card that I had published in the October 2011 issue of CARDS magazine. I love making accordion flowers (even though they aren't a quick and easy technique by any means) because they're such a fun detailed accent to add to just about any project. They can read both "classy" or "fun and cute" or even "bold and graphic" - they're the perfect DIY accent. Okay so enough about them, here's the card I made featuring them:

Besides the accordion flowers I made (using a paper trimmer and a pencil to score each fold), I used Spellbinders scalloped circle dies to add the background layers.
