Card Creations Volume 10 - Floral Thanks Card

Hey there! So a couple of weeks ago, I participated in the Card Creations 10 Blog Hop (check out that post here) and shared a new card with you in honor of the 10th Anniversary of the issue. Today, I thought I'd share one of the cards that I had published in that issue.

I used My Mind's Eye patterned paper for the background, which I love because it creates so much texture and interest. All I did was stamp a sentiment over top and add embellishments!

Folk Art Thank You Card

Hey there! I'm popping in on a Saturday to share a Print Candee card that I made. Our theme this month is thank you cards for specific people. So, for this one I created a thank you card for a teacher. Teachers still like apples, right? :)

I found this clip art set from Adrienne Looman Designs on the Print Candee site and knew immediately that I wanted to create a folk art-inspired image for my project. I created the entire thing in Photoshop and printed it out on white cardstock - easy! Usually I love layers and texture, but sometimes I really like the simple, digi look.

Wilson Designs May Release Day 4

Hey there! So we've finally reached the full reveal of the May Wilson Designs release! The name of this set is  called American Classic:

 So many possibilities, right? It's a great set. My favorite images are the little popcorn pieces, so I saved the project I made with those for last:

To create the two-toned box of popcorn, I stamped the image once in yellow, trimmed it out leaving a thin white border and then stamped it again in red, trimming to the edges and trimming off the popcorn top. Then I adhered the red stamped piece to the yellow base and voila!

Wilson Designs May Release Day 3

 Hey there! It's Day 3 of the Wilson Designs release and I've got a gift bag to share! I made this so it was more of a gender neutral color palette using some Crate Paper and October Afternoon patterns.

I thought this would be a fun birthday gift bag or Father's Day gift bag for a movie lover - you could stick a gift card, popcorn an candy inside!

Wilson Designs May Release Day 2

Back again for Day 2 of Wilson Designs May Release Week! For this project, I used the same main stamp as the first card, but wanted to go for a very clean and graphic look. Here's my attempt:

I used some white embossing powder to make the car stand out and black dye ink for the sentiment - love that font on the word "classic."

Wilson Designs May Release Day 1

Welcome to Day 1 of the Wilson Designs May Release! This set was really fun to work with and has uses for several different occasions (you'll see as the week progresses). For this first project, I chose to make a non-traditional wedding card:

I used Copics to color in the car (I only have a few so I can't get too fancy with shading...yet) and then adhered it with foam tape. I can't stress enough how well these stamps actually stamp. They're photopolymer, not acrylic so the lines are always crisp and they hold any type of ink (even tricky dye inks that tend to pool easily).

Card Creations 10 Blog Hop Winner

Hey there! I'm finally back home and back in Blogland! My cruise was fantastic - a great week of relaxation mixed with a little bit of adventure. Snuba diving and climbing a waterfall were the highlights (although I admit being just a little scared at the start of both) and swimming in crystal-clear Jamaica water was by far the best. What I Know For Sure

I made this little graphic to remind myself that no matter how uncertain the future may seem, it's all going to turn out all right in the end. That, I believe to be true. Also, as you read this, I'm on a cruise ship enjoying the start of my week-long vacation to the Western Carribbean. I'll be soaking up the sun this week and taking a break from worrying about deadlines, work and my future. This week is all about relaxing. Hope you find some time this week to take a little break too!

Paper Crafts magazine Presents: Card Creations Vol. 10 Blog Hop

Hey there! I'm beyond excited today to be a part of the Card Creations 10 Blog Hop for Paper Crafts magazine! I can't believe this awesome special issue has been around for 10 years and I really can't believe that I get to be a part of the celebration! 10 years! That's just amazing to me. I warned you I was beyond excited, so please forgive the gushing. :)   

How's that for a festive cover? Really cute projects from the cover gals. And that's definitely a great sneak peek of what to expect inside - a wide range of card styles for every occasion you could think of. The Card Creations issues are always a treat because they're filled with inspiration for any kind of card maker.
